I had a problem with a cpu-time consuming process and used Daphne task manager for figuring out what was wrong with it. [http://www.drk.com.ar/daphne.php]
Mostly, a process with 98% of CPU for long space of time is wrong. Sometimes such process are part of a running application. Sometimes such process are spyware of virus.
